“We’re also going to continue our Twitch drops programs so that you can earn skins and in-game goodies by supporting your favorite creators. While we're working on the long-term plans, we want upcoming seasons to feel more rewarding than Season 1.”
Update - It's now confirmed that the Overwatch Winter Wonderland event will return as part of Overwatch 2 Season 2. You can see it included on the roadmap just below.
Original Story - At the moment, there is no official announcement for Overwatch 2 to have the Winter Wonderland event for the game. But that does not mean that an announcement is not coming soon.
Blizzard is already bringing back seasonal events for Overwatch 2. The Halloween Junkenstein event is already confirmed and was a popular seasonal event that came every year. It stands to reason that the Winter Wonderland Event is coming back to Overwatch 2.
Having confirmed the event will return as part of Overwatch 2 Season 2, we also now know when the event will start and end.
As for official start times for the event, typically Blizzard tends to launch these in the evening, and given the Overwatch 2 Shop rotates at 7pm GMT, we'll assume the event will launch simultaneously barring any hiccups.
The thing that most people look forward to during the Winter Wonderland Event is the seasonal skins and cosmetics that appear. Since there are more characters in the game now, players should expect new skins and cosmetics for Kiriko, Junker Queen, Sojourn, and the new tank hero coming in Season 2 of Overwatch 2.
Custom game modes are available to play as well. Custom games such as Mei's Snowball Offensive where all players play as Mei and players use snowballs for attacks. Players can expect new game modes since Blizzard will want to step it up in Overwatch 2.
