Many rumors have been floating around the Fortnite community recently that the game might shut down in 2023. These rumors raised eyebrows among many Fortnite fans and players, prompting many of us to wonder if they are true.

So to that end, below we will be answering the question of whether or not Fortnite will be shutting down in 2023 and where these rumors initially stemmed from.

Is Fortnite Shutting Down in 2023?

Getting straight to the point, Fortnite will not be shutting down in 2023. On the contrary, Fortnite and Epic Games have seen massive success over the past few years with their popular and colorful battle royale.

Many fans cite images of tweets floating around over the past few years that appear to be statements from the official Fortnite Twitter account. Some of these tweets mention that Fortnite will shut down, but as you might have guessed, they are all fake and should be wholly disregarded.

Fans shouldn't believe anything unless you can verify it on the official Epic GamesTwitter account because these images can be easily Photoshopped and edited. And as mentioned before, there's currently no reason for the popular battle royale to end, either.

The game has over 350 million registered players, with revenue accrued since its release of $9.1 billion. There doesn't appear to be any slowing down in terms of their fanbase and current players' interest in the game. Ultimately, the game has no reason to end right now as it's currently a massive success.

Players also cite one Tweet stating that they would be shutting down due to a "big demand that they can't keep up with".

This is another false statement, as the game has handled hundreds of millions of players in the last few years with relative ease and only required updates and fixes while still delivering a great performance and experience with the game.

So to wrap things up, Fortnite will not end anytime soon. Epic Games is making huge profits thanks to the success of the game, the developers have handled the traffic and volume of players well over the past few years, and the game appears to only be getting bigger and better with each passing month.
