The Blight has earned his place as one of the A-Tier killers in the horror game Dead by Daylight, but he is not a very easy killer to play according to most fans. Succeeding as this killer requires detailed knowledge of his ability, the game's perks, and the game's many maps.
Thankfully, we have got you covered if you want to learn how to play The Blight. If you are 'bouncing off the walls' with excitement to play The Blight, take a moment to read about his power and perks, as well as the best loadout for this killer.
The Blight Power And Perks
Before we delve into the best builds for Blight, let's look at this killer's power and teachable perks so you know what you're working with. You can use all three of The Blight's perks together and earn Merciless Killer to earn the achievement of Adept Blight.
First, here are the Blight's three teachable perks:
Perk: Hex Blood Favour
- A Hex that gains The Entity's favor when blood is spilled.
- Injuring a Survivor will call upon The Entity to block pallets from being pulled down within a 24/28/32 meter radius of the Survivor location for 15 seconds.
- The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.
Perk: Hex Undying
- While Hex: Undying is active, Survivors within 2/3/4 meters of any Dull Totem have their aura revealed.
- When another Hex Totem is cleansed, that Totem's Hex transfers to the Hex: Undying Totem, deactivating Hex: Undying. Any tokens the transferred Hex had are transferred as well.
Perk: Dragon's Grip
- After damaging a generator, for the next 30 seconds, the first Survivor that interacts with it will scream, revealing their location for 4 seconds, and becoming afflicted with the Exposed status effect for 60 seconds.
- Dragon's Grip has a cooldown of 120/100/80 seconds.
- Exposed Survivors will be downed by basic attacks even if uninjured.
Power: Blighted Corruption
The Blight's power is called 'Blighted Corruption.' The in-game description reads as follows:
- The Blight starts the Trial with 5 Tokens.
Special Ability: Rush
- When Blighted Corruption is fully charged, press the Power button to initiate a Rush, allowing The Blight to dash forwards at great speed, consuming 1 Token in the process.
- During a Rush, The Blight is unable to initiate an Attack.
Special Interaction: Slam
- A Slam is performed by rushing The Blight into obstacles or walls, which opens the Chain Rush Window.
Special Attack: Lethal Rush
- During the Chain Rush Window, press the Power button again to initiate a Lethal Rush, consuming 1 Token in the process.
- During a Lethal Rush, The Blight can initiate an Attack by pressing the Attack button.
- Rushing into Pallets or Breakable Walls while attacking will destroy them.
Fatigue:
- When either the Chain Rush Window closes or the final Lethal Rush with all Tokens are consumed, The Blight enters Fatigue and begins recharging the Tokens.
Best Blight Builds In Dead By Daylight
The top Blight loadout for you in the game depends on your specific playstyle, skill level, and comfort level playing The Blight specifically.
As such, we'll give you several options so you can put together a build that works for you and the way you play.
Beginner Blight Build
If you are just starting as a new Blight main, it might be hard to decide what aspects of gameplay you want your build to focus on. If you're torn between the rest of our builds, it might be worth giving the beginner Blight build a go.
- Fearmonger
- Hex: Blood Favour (The Blight)
- Jolt
- Whispers
All of the perks included in this build are generic, meaning they either come by default with The Blight or can be found in the Bloodweb of all killers without prestiging or reaching level 50.
Jolt provides generator regression, while Whispers helps you find survivors and avoid spending valuable time in dead zones. Fearmonger ensures you can land an effortless first hit, while Hex: Blood Favour helps you end chases.
Survivor Tracking Otzdarva Blight Build
Fog Whisperer and streamer Otzdarva created a tracking-centric build focused on finding survivors and chasing them until they're out of the game. This build makes use of your senses and helps you to always be aware of where survivors are at all times, perfect for any beginner Blight player who struggles to keep up with sneaky survivors.
- Tinkerer (The Hillbilly)
- Deathbound (The Executioner)
- Hoarder (The Twins)
- Discordance (The Legion)
Hoarder creates a loud noise notification every time a survivor picks up an item, allowing you to quickly locate them and dart toward them. Discordance creates a notification when two survivors are on the same generator at the same time, while Tinkerer will alert you again when the gen reaches 70% repair progress. The final perk, Deathbound, will make a survivor scream upon completing a healing action. To properly utilize this build, you must immediately head toward all loud noise notifications you hear.
What Are The Best Perks For The Blight?
We've given you some builds to test out on Blight, but you might be wondering which individual perks are best for him.
A few of the best perks on Blight are:
- I'm All Ears (The Ghost Face)
- Tinkerer (The Hillbilly)
- Jolt
- Whispers
- Hex: Blood Favour (The Blight)
- Hex: No One Escapes Death
We recommend mixing and matching the perks in the builds we've provided to create your favorite loadout. As you familiarize yourself with this killer, you'll determine which perks are your favorites and be able to mix and match these perks effectively.
