Tiny Harris was born in July 14, 1975. Born Tameka Cottle, she is an American singer-songwriter from Georgia. Cottle is best known as a member of the American multi-platinum vocal group Xscape. Tameka Cottle is known as Tiny Harris because of her height. She is 4 ft 11 in. Her father together with her uncle, Joseph Pope founded the R&B group called The Tams. In 1992, Tiny joined the Xscape R&B quartet, while attending her high school. Xscape was launched by producer Jermaine Dupri while singing in Atlanta at the occasion of his birthday. As a member of the group, Harris was involved in three of the band’s platinum albums: Off the Hook, Traces of My Lipstick and Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha. As a member of Xscape, she earned two Soul Train Music Awards for Best New R&B Artist and Album and the A-Town Music Award for Best Group. She sang lead vocals on the Xscape’s 6 hit singles: “Love’s a Funny Thing”, “All I Need”, “Understanding”, “Do You Want To?”, “My Little Secret”, and “Am I Dreamin'”. She has also recorded the soundtracks for Panther, Soul Food, Bad Boys, and Love Jones. The band finally parted ways in 1998, after the release of Xscape’s third album, Traces of My Lipstick.
