Maui County’s new online payment portal for its transient accommodations tax will open on Dec. 1.

The new system at mauicounty.gov/tat/payment will allow taxpayers, including agents enrolled in the Bulk Filers Program, to pay online and helps streamline the payment process.

The last day to make online payments on the current Bank of Hawaii’s DirectBiller site will be 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

For TAT liability exceeding $100,000 per year, payment must be remitted by electronic funds transfer. Payments made via the county’s online payment portal will satisfy this requirement.

Walk-in or mail-in payments are also accepted in the Maui County Transient Accommodations Tax Office.
